6 months. Woo!

Riley is 6 months today!! Her doctor appointment isn't until next week, so I will have to post twice this month :)

Currently she is taking a nap in her crib for the first time. We will see how long that lasts. She thinks the crib is for playtime.

July and early August have been fun. We went to Idaho for a few days at the end of July. Richard camped out with his parents and his sister Bonnie and her two girls while I took Riley and stayed with Brian and Liz. We had a good time. It was pretty warm, but it was fun seeing family on both sides. Richard would probably have stayed forever if we didn't make him leave.

We have also been spending time with Bonnie while she's in town from Kansas. Saturday she came up to Ogden and we went to the Dinosaur Park and went to feed the ducks at Weber State. Her daughter Abbie (4) had a blast. She was so excited about all the dinosaurs, but was terrified to get near them. She didn't want any pictures taken with them, so we had to step in and take pictures with her so we could get some dinosaur shots. We spent the afternoon at our apartment before getting some dinner and then going to feed the ducks. Paige (1) thought the ducks were hilarious. She just kept laughing.

Bonnie and her kids are staying the night with us this Saturday before they leave on Sunday. We are so excited to have them come. We are planning on going to the aquarium  on Saturday and then heading up to Ogden and feeding the ducks again because Abbie and Paige were so excited about them.

Now for Riley's updates!!

  • She rolls constantly. As soon as you put her on the floor, she rolls to her tummy. She can roll tummy to back, but she prefers to fuss until you flip her over. She's a bit lazy.
  • She could still watch tv all day if you let her. She thinks it's great.
  • Her favorite toys are things like mint boxes (the little circular containers), Wheat Thins boxes, pretzels bags, fruit snacks wrappers, etc. She gets very upset when you take those things away without permission.
  • She loves to stand. All the time.
  • She doesn't like anyone. She cries when someone other than Richard or myself hold her. I secretly love it.
  • She still loves her blankets and pacifier.
  • She has 5 teeth. And we are still nursing. Yay me! (I always said when she starts getting teeth I would be done, but so far we are still plugging away)
  • She loves to make noise. She gurgles and giggles and fake coughs all the time. I love the fake cough. She will also sometimes squeal when daddy plays with her.
  • She loves to stare. She stares at everyone and hardly ever smiles for them. But she's got huge blue eyes that everyone loves.
Now for the pictures!!

Riley loooooves Paige. She watches her all the time.

Her fruit snack wrapper. Notice the focus.

I took the fruit snack wrapper away and gave her one of her real toys. Notice the sadness.

Riley and Daddy.

Her first toothbrush

Pocatello at about 10:30 or 11 pm. Ignore my ugly hair. There was a breeze.

Richard in his natural habitat. Idaho.

The pop up tent trailer. Richard's love.

Riley and Paige. Paige doesn't quite understand that Riley is a real human being... She just walks all over her. She almost sat on her face once.

Abbie and Riley. Abbie adores "baby Riley"

She's so cute.

Riley did not like Brian at all. She cried when he entered the room and she wouldn't stop watching him when he was around. The fact she let him hold her without crying was great improvement. But notice how she is trying to get away...

She loved Liz though. She only touches faces of people she likes and every picture with Liz, Riley would try to grab her face.

Jason's birthday. He's 21! That's a picture of Zeus on there. I'm sure Jason loved it.

Brian and Liz wishing Jason Happy Birthday

Abbie asked to hold "baby Riley".

Then she wanted a picture of her holding Paige. Paige didn't care to be held.

She's so smart. Learning about farm animals.

Adorable.

The crib.

She doesn't get that it's for sleep.

She loves this position. She always smiles and licks her feet.

At the Dinosaur Park, inside the museum.

Paige at Dinosaur Park. She's always so happy.

I said we went for Abbie, but that was a lie. Obviously, we went for Richard to play with the dinosaurs.

Riley outside looking at fake dinosaurs.

Feeding the ducks. So much fun!

6 Months!

And for fun. I love this face. I can't believe she is 6 months already!!
